PEEK Screws for High Strength, Non-Conductive

Q: We are looking for a very strong non-conductive M8 socket cap bolt that we can use to mount tooling on the end of a conveyor. There is a lot of leverage and force applied to these brackets and we were shearing off the Nylon bolts. Any suggestions?

A: One of the strongest non-conductive polymer bolts we could offer would be PEEK. This polymer would be significantly stronger than Nylon. Furthermore there is a reinforced PEEK with glass fiber which may help in your application. The strength of the glass reinforced PEEK is about 10% higher than the standard PEEK screw but it is more brittle so it can fracture more easily.
