Haynes® 230 fasteners such as bolts, screws, nuts and threaded rods are ideally suited for high temperature environments where creep strength and oxidation resistance are the primary concern. This material really stands out when your operating at temperature is above 1200°F (650°C). Alloy 230 bolts are even capable of surviving at temperatures up to 2100°F (1150°C). These unique capabilities are due to its chemical make up as a nickel-chromium-tungsten-molybdenum alloy.
When comparing the stress-rupture strength of alloy 230 to other high temperature materials, like Inconel 625, Hastelloy X, Incoloy 800H or RA330, Alloy 230 bolts exceed them all when operating at temperatures above 1600F. Click here for a material comparison of Alloy 230's high temperature, stress-rupture strength.
Furthermore, alloy 230 screws can maintain their ductility after long exposures to high temperatures. This demonstrates that this material retains it elongation and does not become brittle, which is a common mode of failure for other alloys when exposed to the effects of high temperature oxidation. Alloy 230 Screws
![]() | Alloy 230 12-point screws are ideally used when higher torque is required than a socket head screw can offer. The only drawback is they are less economical and require higher minimum quantities due to the complexity of design. Alloy 230 12 point screws are available in 1/4" or larger sizes. | • IFI-115 • MIL SPEC • DIN 34822 • DIN 34821 |
![]() | Alloy 230 button head screws are typically used to provide a wide clamping area. In addition, they are used when a low profile fastener is needed. Button head cap screws in Alloy 230 are often used for fastening a material that is too thin to counter bore. | • ASME B18.3 • ASME 18.3.4M • DIN 7380 / ISO 7380 |
![]() | Typically Alloy 230 flat head screws have an 82° countersink angle. Custom angles from 60° to 120° are also available upon request. Alloy 230 flat heads are designed to be flush with the surface and can be made with a slotted and socket drivers. Phillips, torx and tamperproof drivers are also available. | • ASME B18.3 • ASME B18.3.6 • DIN 963 / ISO 2009 • DIN 965 / ISO 7046 • DIN 7991 / ISO 10642 |
![]() | Alloy 230 hex head cap screws are a commonly used style and feature an added washer face that isn't part of a hex head bolt. This washer face provides tighter dimensional tolerances. Alloy 230 hex head cap screws provide high clamping force and easy access. | • ASME B18.6.3 • DIN 931 / ISO 4014 • DIN 933 / ISO 4017 • DIN 961 / ISO 8676 |
![]() | Alloy 230 pan head screws feature a rounded head style and are most commonly available with a slotted driver. They are best for small diameter fasteners and low torque applications. | • ASME B18.6.3 • DIN 7985 • DIN 921 • DIN 85 / ISO 1580 • DIN 84 / ISO 1207 (cheese head) • DIN 966 / ISO 7047 (raised counter sunk) |
![]() | Alloy 230 security screws provide a solution to prevent tampering or unwanted removal. This is due to their unique designs that cannot be removed using common drivers. Tamper-proof Alloy 230 security screws can be made in a wide variety of driver styles, as well as custom per print. | |
![]() | Alloy 230 set screws are a headless fastener with a slotted or socket driver on one end and a special tip on the other.
