Q: Can you provide the torque specification for a Hastelloy C276 4-40 socket head cap screw and a Nickel 200 4-40 socket head cap screw?
A: The torque tables are developed for screw heads that have no limitations on torque. Unfortunately the socket head drives will likely cam-out before you reach the optimal torque, especially at that size. This why really don’t recommend torques for socket heads and screws less that 1/4″. Best way to estimate is to take one screw to the limit and then back off about 30%. This holds true if they are C276 socket head cap screws or any other material.
