Grade 7 Titanium offers Edge on Corrosion

Q: When do you use Titanium Grade 7 Bolts?
A: Titanium grade 7 is similar in strength to grade 2 bolts but the material is alloyed with added palladium. This addition gives Titanium grade 7 bolts improved corrosion resistance in mineral acids and strong brines. This is ideal in salt water conditions with trace contaminants. But keep in mind, Titanium bolts are not recommended for many strong acidic conditions. Their corrosion resistance is primarily for salt water or  chlorides. Due to their nature they will readily oxide in most acid conditions. This chart compares the corrosion resistance of grade 7 titanium bolts to grade 2.
